Yeah, I'm actually submitting stuff. Whatttttt?
So I had to do a 400 word short story with the prompt "conflict can bring some together and tear others apart".
It was written under test conditions in one hour. So before I upload it, I'm gonna proof read and change some stuff around. In the meantime, PREVIEW.
A loud bang. That was all that marked the beginning. People were dying all around me. The atmosphere was intensely frantic. The usually calm and orderly hospital was filled with the worried and panicked citizens of Omagh. It was difficult to hear yourself in there, and you had to yell to be heard over the shouting and the sound of children crying.
The year was 1998. The date? The 15th of August. A car bomb had detonated in the streets of Omagh. 29 people died that day. My brother Charlie was one of the 220 people injured.
